To start, I worked on correcting my original diagrams.
Iterations!
Afterwards I started working on redoing my three iterations of the Oakland Museum. I actually found working on these versions to be really fun and relaxing! I loved how they turned out.
I really love how the three iterations look next to each other (a bit *obvious* since they are iterations of each other so we’d hope they were a bit cohesive). The middle one is probably the most different, but I still think it works well with the other two.
Eisenman Diagram!
Going into this part of my weekend architecture duties was a bit daunting. Both essays intimidated me at first, but after briefly going over them on Wednesday and then reading them on my own I started to feel better about tackling this assignment.
I decided to focus on the idea of “transformation and registration”. I came up with my own set of “rules” which consisted of breaking down a simple cube into quarters and then varying the elevations, working from outside towards the inner part of the cube. I think this shows how you can have a set of ordered rules and still have something that is dynamic and might not seem to make total sense at a first glance.
