To start, I wanted to think about what I understood shot, montage, and rhythm to be. My definitions for these words are as follows:
Shot: a single element of a composition
Montage: a collision of shots
Rhythm: an arranged pattered of movement
Shot
Montage
There are four montages, one with 2 colliding shots, one with 3 colliding shots, one with 4 colliding shots, and one with 5 colliding shots. The most simple form, the shot itself, is emphasized as it is the largest extrusion.
Rhythm and Sequence
To highlight the shot, it is on the ends of the sequence. In order to create rhythm in my sequence, I have the order of movement go from the most simple to the most complex and then back. In the order, the heights of the structure decrease and then increase again. This creates a pattern of movement (rhythm) by using my shot and montage to create a sequence.
