Iterations

For my Toyo Ito Library iterations I had a main goal to maintain the idea of focusing on the 3 different shapes created by the interior lines. I drew new lines – each with a different criteria – to create diagrams that would be partially different from my initial; but still have the same essence.

1 – Lines go only in the same curvature/concavity;

2 – Lines are offset from the exterior shape of the library;

3 – The lines are random but I tried some different for the diagram for this one. Thought it was interesting to see the idea diagramed in a different way.

Eisenman Diagram

For the diagram I worked with the idea of rotation and offsetting the shapes. Started with a regular cube, to which a added a diagonal going from the middle of one the face to the middle of the one next to it. I thought that the rotation of that would create a more dynamic shape in the end since the ‘cuts’ would interact with each other.

Created a rotated 4×4 grid and extruded the grid almost as a spiral – started by the middle with the tallest one and worked around a spiral until extruding the last one – the shortest
