For this reading I focused my diagram on the idea of simple city vs complex house, and on the idea of how the overall simple shapes on the outside could be manipulated in order to create some interesting spaces.
I was inspired by the planning of Cerdá’s Barcelona and how the cut outs in the buildings could create hidden enclosed areas that could have different uses.
The idea of planned vs unplanned also comes into play as I started with a grid that was planned but then just played along with the inside of the ‘blocks’
