After Monday’s class, I wanted to make sure all my decisions were intentional. I reworked my plan and focused on created spaces of collisions with repetition. Most of the collisions occur between the walls and spaces, but I also wanted to add collisions of the roofs. By extruding the different areas I created a sense of hierarchy. I also wanted to create void spaces, which are areas of breathing that are the opposite of the cramped, collided spaces.

For tenement housing, I tried to take a similar approach to that of my shotgun housing remixed plan. I took 4 copies of the traced plan and rearranged and trimmed them to create a new form. I changed the elevations of the various parts, while also extruding the parts at different heights, in order to produce varied collisions as there is a lot of repetition within this plan. The “middle-ish” portion of the plan is where the collision, repetition, and void spaces are especially emphasized.
