People define the street. The tubes are an interesting and different way to direct people to separate points of the park with seeing what is happening on the outside. Almost like a catwalk.

2. Congregation *

Enclosed area that directs people in where they should be going, congregating.

3. Isolation

Very boxy and closed creating the privacy needed for isolation. Very metaphysical emphasizing the entry of light.

4. Sacred *

Focused on the idea of arches because that reminds me or religious buildings.

5. Profane *

Thought of profane as the opposite of religious, so non-traditional, almost sexy.

6. Commerce

I believe that commerce architecture should call the public’s attention. The building should intrigue and create curiosity on people so that those will be temped to go in.

7. Learning

For learning I chose a library located in Shanghai. I chose this because I thought the use of curves and these ‘niches’ was really interesting creating an interesting atmosphere for learning and reading.

8. Living *

I chose this because I thought it was similar in a way to the idea of the skeleton that is seen in a couple of my other precedents. The combination of the columns and the glass walls.

10. Contemplation *

Contemplation means to get in touch with yourself and your thoughts and the open sea view creates that feeling.
